Precision-installed paver patios, driveways and walkways built for Seattle weather.
Paver Patios, Walkways, & Driveways
At Ecoyards, some of the most popular landscape features we install are paver patios, walkways, and driveways. Pavers offer durability, design flexibility, and a classic look that complements any landscape.
Unlike poured concrete, pavers won’t crack as easily, and they're far easier to repair or adjust over time. They also come in a wide range of colors, textures, and styles—making them an excellent choice for both modern and traditional landscapes.
Why Choose Pavers?
- Aesthetic Appeal: Choose from brick, concrete, or natural stone pavers in a variety of styles.
- Durability: Designed to withstand the freeze-thaw cycle better than poured concrete.
- Easy Maintenance: Individual pavers can be lifted and replaced if needed—no need to demolish an entire slab.
- Eco-Friendly Options: Permeable pavers help reduce runoff and promote healthy drainage.
Our Process
1. Site Evaluation & Material Selection
We’ll visit your property to understand your goals, recommend design options, and help you choose the right paver style. We source high-quality materials from local Puget Sound suppliers whenever possible.
2. Excavation & Base Prep
We excavate the site and install a compacted gravel base—typically 4 inches deep for foot traffic, and deeper for driveways. When feasible, we reuse excavated soil on-site in garden beds, minimizing waste and transportation.
3. Bedding Layer
A thin, level layer of bedding sand is added to provide a smooth surface for the pavers to sit on.
4. Laying Pavers
We carefully set the pavers in your chosen pattern, cutting edges as needed for a precise fit. A rigid edge restraint system is installed around the perimeter to prevent movement or settling over time.
5. Compaction & Finishing
Finally, we compact the entire surface using a vibrating plate compactor, ensuring stability and an even finish. Your new paver patio or pathway is now ready to enjoy!
